Aliveness Statement 1.22.2025

The Aliveness Project condemns the actions that unfolded yesterday at the Minnesota Capitol during the Public Safety Committee. These actions were unacceptable, counterproductive, and fundamentally at odds with our values and mission.

Let us be clear: this was not an Aliveness Project-supported demonstration, and the individuals in attendance did not represent us in any capacity.

We are deeply committed to advancing equitable access to transformative HIV care and prevention services. Our organization is built on the principles of inclusion, respect, self-determination, and peaceful and productive advocacy with members on both sides of the aisle. We believe in a constructive dialogue and unity required to create lasting change.

The Aliveness Project has always and will always champion peaceful, respectful approaches to advocacy that foster collaboration and meaningful progress. We must keep focused on our mission to serve people living with HIV and to create a future where every Minnesotan can thrive.
