Aliveness is specifically seeking Board members with expertise in Administration, Fundraising, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Relations, Special Events, Finance, Health Care, Legal, and Technical Development. Previous board experience is helpful, but not necessary.
What does it mean to be an Aliveness board member?
Being on the Board of Directors goes beyond a traditional volunteer experience and into the highest level of visionary leadership for the organization. The Aliveness Project Board of Directors shall manage the affairs of Aliveness subject to the articles of incorporation and the bylaws which includes establishing the operating policies, hiring/evaluating the executive director, fundraising, overseeing fiscal affairs and hearing grievances raised within the context of Personnel Policies established by the Board of Directors. An Aliveness Board Director commits their time to volunteer for a two-year term. This will include a monthly meeting held on the third Tuesday of every month at 6pm. Each Board Director is also required to serve on a Board Committee. Serving on the Board is a rewarding way to give back to your community, while acquiring new skills that can enhance your own personal and professional growth.

The Aliveness Project was founded as a community center for and driven by people living with HIV. Since 1985, we have been facilitating connection to community, offering nutrition and wellness services, and linking our members to resources to lead self-direct and healthy lives.
