This move contrasts with the initial bipartisan support for the program, with the goal of ending AIDS in the U.S. by 2030. Advocates fear that such a significant cut will undermine the progress made in recent years.
The program has funded millions of HIV tests and increased access to care, and it has contributed to the rise in the use of PrEP. Advocates argue that continued funding is essential to expand PrEP use and address HIV disparities in at-risk communities. Funds must be increased!
The proposed cut clearly reflects the GOP’s disinterest in ambitious public health campaigns.

Some of these cuts include slashing over $767 million from federal HIV programs and reducing funding for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, including vital services like AIDS education, training centers, and dental coverage. Around 50% of U.S. HIV patients depend on this program!
However, there’s hope. Your voice can make a difference! We can’t afford to reduce any funding. Contact your member of Congress and urge them, not only to maintain funding, but increase it. This is the only way we can achieve our goal to end the HIV epidemic.
